this game is bad, i played the first three parts on the ps2... and this is realy one bad peace of ****....
first there is the story, or better yet the lack of one
there is no story.... you want to save a girl and in the end after going through all that trouble he doesn't even get a chance to kiss her
second of all, the games where always about dante but now it's about dante v2.0 (also known as nero) dante has no real purpose in this game... also you see al lot of older characters from the first three games, but they don't explain why they are there and what they are doing there. the girl that is alway's with dante is send away every time there is a big fight coming up.
third problem i had is that you only get half a game for the price of a full game. you actualy play the game 2 times before you complete it, after you played level 1 through 5 you change characters and play 5 back to 1 again this doens't add to the story and it doesn't realy introduce any new gameplay elements so it's realy pointless and a cheap way to fill a game.
also there is a option to choose other characters, in the older games you can unlock about 4 or 5 characters/customes but in this game you can't unlock anything except the ultimate version of dante and nero, and it's just an unlimitated demon gauge so it's more of a skill than an character

overall i think this game sucks!!!! i gave it a three because the gameplay made up for a lot, and i mean A LOT!!!! if the if the gameplay as awsome as it was in this game i would give it a -10 (like the game i too can back track... 10 points up 20 down!)

This game deserves a much higher overall rating, this is such an adictive game... i played the first 2 games on the ps2 and the psp game... and they rocked! they where awsome, and original. you can play for hours doing the same thing over and over again and still not get bored with the whole concept of roling up things and creatures. i know this is a port but like i said, you can play the same level over and over again and not even realise you're actualy wasting time playing a game where you have to make a ball of junk
I think it deserves a minimum of 8.5... a 7.5 is to low for my standards (witch are prety high some times)... but hey that's me....
